The multi-award-winning artist Sam Smith has created a collection of remixed songs called ‘Stripped’.

The layers of instruments in the mix of the tracks are gradually pared back as the song progresses, until just their amazing vocal remains, creating unique alternative versions of Sam’s incredible songs.

The Grammy award winning song ‘Stay With Me’ was transformed using this approach.

Intro mirrored the audio technique by reworking the iconic music video (viewed over 16 million times) for the launch of the ‘Stripped’ collection.

As instrumental layers of the song fall away, elements within the video environment disintegrate and subtly drift away like ash on a breeze.

Eventually everything in the scene floats away apart from Sam, leaving them as the sole focus visually and musically.

The film adapts the iconic ‘Stay With Me’ music video using a complex mixture of post-production effects; rotoscoping, tracking, 2D matte painting and CGI animations were used to create a fascinating remix of this Sam Smith classic.
