Can ‘The Lost Tapes’

Mute Records

>Project Details

Julian House created sleeve art for this 3-CD box set of previously unheard material from these maverick pioneers of experimental German rock in the 70s. Can earned legendary status with albums such as Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi, and went on to inspire Kasabian.

Taken from 30 hours of master tapes found while dismantling the band’s studio, the resulting tracks – taken from 1968 to 1977 – are not comprised of jam sessions or out-takes but rather finished pieces of music that didn’t get used for one reason or another.
